It has been our experience that local businesses are very supportive of community organisations. It is often a question of knowing how to make the right approach and to be specific about what we want.
Way back in 1990 when we announced the plans to build own our premises in addition to financial donations we have also received items such as electrical appliances, office furniture, plants for our garden. Since then we have received toys and equipment for our Crèche.
The latest gift we received was from Aramark a multinational company based in our catchment. Their staff from across Ireland spent a day transforming our Crèche’s outdoor play area and refurbished all the internal areas. It was a great example of the practical application of corporate social responsibility.
